January is perfect time for Klopp to offer playmaker Liverpool return amid FFP rumours

Liverpool are in need of a creative midfielder during the January transfer window.

Liverpool may have been strongly linked with a move for Flamengo playmaker Lucas Paqueta, but they won’t be signing the Brazilian talent.

The Reds are going well this season under Jurgen Klopp, but need creativity in the middle of the park having failed to truly replace Philippe Coutinho.

Another playmaker is needed in January, and whilst Paqueta could have been the ideal successor to fellow Brazilian Coutinho, he won’t be heading to Anfield.

As reported by Calciomercato, AC Milan are set to sign Paqueta in a €35million (£30.6million) deal, but raises questions about their correspondence with Financial Fair Play regulations.

The Italians are still negotiating settlement having almost been excluded from the Europa League over FFP problems, and Paqueta’s January arrival may just force the club to sell one of their big names.

With Liverpool missing out on Paqueta, January is the perfect time for Klopp and co to try and raid Milan, and ex-Liverpool talent Suso would fit the bill if those FFP rumours about Milan are true.

Suso, 24, joined Liverpool from Cadiz in 2010, but left for Milan in 2015, and has become a star in Serie A ever since, and has already notched two goals and six assists in just seven league games this season.

The Spaniard has the creativity that Liverpool are looking for from midfield, and having been heavily linked with a move back to Anfield earlier this year, the Reds should be looking to pounce to bring him back to Anfield.

Suso’s guile in and around the box would come in handy for supplying Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, whilst he can also score goals himself, making him the perfect Coutinho replacement – and bringing him back to Merseyside could just strengthen Liverpool’s title bid in 2019.
