Liverpool are holding talks with Galatasaray for the £27 million transfer of striker Divock Origi according to the latest reports.
He has become one of the forgotten men at Anfield but Divock Origi could soon be on his way out of Liverpool according to reports. The Turkish press are suggesting Galatasaray have already made contact with the Reds about a January transfer.
There were a number of interested clubs in the Belgian forward this summer as Liverpool slapped a £27 million price tag on him.
That price did not lead to any bids but the Turkish side are looking to bolster their side as the top the table and have a good chance of progressing from their Champions League group. They are battling with Porto and Schalke for a place in the knockout stages.
You may be forgiven for forgetting that Origi was still a part of Jurgen Klopp’s side. He has yet to see the field this season and has failed to even make the bench after a small injury slowed down his involvement early in the year.
He is firmly behind Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge in the pecking order and is struggling to get past Dominic Solanke in the manager’s eyes. The return of Rhian Brewster will only make it harder for the Belgian international.
Liverpool are eyeing up some January transfers of their own and selling a £27 million asset who is doing little more than filling up squad quotas will help them pursue better players.
The two biggest transfer rumors at present for incomings are a big money deal for Christian Pulisic and a move for Aaron Ramsey whose contract expires at the end of the season.
There is a consensus that the Reds need to add another attacking player in the next transfer window with Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane not yet hitting last season’s crazy pace of scoring.
